Dan’s XLT Ford Ranger Dual Battery System

We design all our electrical setups to take up as little space in your vehicle as possible, as we understand the importance of maximizing storage space, and this Ford Ranger dual battery system is a great example of that. For Dan’s Ranger we opted for a 100Ah slimline Lithium battery setup with a DC-DC charger that charges the battery while the car is driving. Using a slimline battery meant we could build it into the back wall of the Ranger cab, resulting in an ultra-discrete, unobtrusive and neat setup that is completely hidden away by the rear seat folding back. Holding the battery in a secure and strong battery tray, this mounting location makes the most of what would usually just be wasted space.

Along the side of the Ranger tub, we installed a weatherproof 12V control box featuring dual USB ports, 2 x 12V accessory sockets, a battery monitor and Anderson plug for solar power input to top up the battery when Dan is camping and the car isn’t running for lengths at a time. This control box is what the ARB elements weatherproof fridge is plugged into, making sure the beers are always cold and turning this Ranger into the perfect weekend vehicle.

“Got in touch with Cruising Customs through a mate and was not disappointed. I took the truck in to get a dual battery and charger installed and ended up with an efficient and well priced system. Super quick with getting the work fit in, and supplied great customer service. Will definitely be getting the rest of the fitout through Cruising Customs.”
